Financial Controller
If you are seeking a full-filling challenging career move, our group of Pharmacies is looking for you.
The position is a full time, onsite job located in BC’s beautiful Shuswap, Sorrento BC, close to Salmon Arm, Kamloops and Kelowna.
The Financial Controller would be responsible for managing the centralized full-cycle accounting for a group of Pharmacy affiliated companies, includes GL, AP, AR, Payroll, inter-company transaction, general ledger maintenance, Assets, Government remittance, financial reporting and Preparing Year End Schedules.
The position is part of our succession plan which would see the candidate start as Assistant Financial Controller, then move into the Financial Controller role.
Core Duties
Accounting Operations: managing daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash flow and inventory accounting.
Supervising and managing the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
To Liaison with our various locations to ensure and assist with data flow, accuracy, and that policies are followed .
Financial Reporting: preparing and analyzing Internal reports, financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
Regulatory Compliance: ensuring the company adheres to all relevant financial laws and regulations, including tax filings.
Internal Controls: Implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating financial risks, contributing to risk management strategies.
Process Improvement: identifying and implementing improvements to accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA designation (an asset)
- 5+ years of experience in a full-cycle accounting environment; retail experience is an asset; proficient with accounting software and Excel
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently; strong time management skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Proven ability to lead teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Exceptional people skills, enabling effective connection and communication
Ability to commute/relocate: reliably to commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Full-Time Pharmacist, Salmon Arm, BC
Mount Ida Pharmacy is in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake. We have been proudly serving Salmon Arm since 2008, including our neighbours at the Shuswap Lodge Seniors Community.
The pharmacy is not open late evenings, closes at 3pm on Saturdays, and is closed all Sundays and holidays. Enjoy your evenings and weekends at the lake, camping at one of the 20+ provincial parks in the area, or spend time during the winter months at one of the nearby downhill or cross-country ski areas.
We have pharmacist overlap on at least 1–2 weekdays, registered technician support, and we do not impose any quotas for clinical services upon our pharmacists.
